WHAT COURSES DO WE OFFER?

The Agricultural and Rural Centre is proud that we are now an approved National Open College Network Centre (NOCN) offering Award, Certificate and Diploma qualifications in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2.

 Students can register for the following programs depending on interest and attainment level:

Agricultural and Rural Horticulture Emerging Skills

Agricultural and Rural Animal Emerging Skills
Agricultural and Rural Horticulture Developing Skills
Agricultural and Rural Animal Developing Skills
Agricultural and Rural Horticultural Secure Skills
Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development (E3D)
Agricultural and Rural Foundation Course
Agricultural and Rural Intermediate Horticultural Course
Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development (L1D)
Agricultural and Rural Centre Plant Care Course

All courses included units in literacy and numeracy skills, independent learning and work related learning as well as a “deep dive” learning in Animal, land or plant care.

SEN APPLICANTS

These course are open to all students with special needs, including ASD, Mental Health issues, ADHD, Attachment Disorder, Trauma Related needs and children who are looked after aged 14 -19 years. 

ADMISSION/REFERRAL

Students are accepted anytime during the year through a referral system.   Students with highest need and young people who are looked after will have priority consideration.

Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 Pupils

Alternative Provision
The Agricultural and Rural Centre work with schools and colleges to offer an additional training resource to support the Key Stage 2,3 and 4 Curriculum for any young person who meets our referral criteria and would benefit from this.
Young people enjoy a hands on approach to learning.  We work closely with schools to provide additional vocational learning that supports the opportunity for young people  to enjoy outdoor and healthy activities.  Some of the courses that young people undertake include:
 
 Land Based Studies, Outdoor Activities, From Field to Fork, Animal Husbandry, Rural Crafts and Activities, Traditional rural skills 

Adults
We offer Adults the opportunity to have a full hands on experience With our farm animals and horticultural land in a safe environment.   We offer a unique service in his area, one that has valuable benefits.  Whether you want to experience the fun of working with  animals, or would like to study for An accreditation or job, then we can help.  

We are not open to the general public  when you are there and have limited places to twenty per session to ensure the best quality service.  

Individuals will work to their own Individual outcomes with personalized aims and objectives, to ensure they receive a progressive experience every time.
